Southeast regional arts and activism organization Alternate ROOTS invited johnson to curate an exhibition for their 2018 ROOTS Weekend conference in Jackson, MS. An invitational featuring work from across the region was assembled focusing on the use of the body as a proxy for writing, rewriting, and even destroying the archive of false histories asserted by white-centered, hetero-normative, patriarchal power structures.
