Director of Engagement & Learning

Following the Core Sample project at the Mississippi Museum of Art, daniel was invited by the Museum to hold an indefinite Artist Residency in their studio and gallery engagement spaces. Three months after accepting this residency, the Director of Engagement & Learning resigned without a clear transition plan for the position. johnson approached Museum Director Betsy Bradley with a proposition - let him perform the role of Director of Engagement & Learning as a work of Socially Engaged Art. johnson’s effort led to an expansion of community agency and use of storytelling in programs, gallery engagement spaces, studio programs, school programs, and gallery education strategies.
