The Art of Governance

In partnership with Jackson Mayor Tony Yarber’s Youth Council Initiative and Alternate ROOTS, johnson formed a youth city council to learn faciliation techniques, identify a priority city challenge, and use art as a tool toward a solution. Paid for their time, these youth worked together to better understand power dynamics between different levels of government, research areas where city government can address everyday challenges, facilitate conversations among their peers, and host an intergenerational meal to address their chosen challenge - The Generation Gap.
